No towers, no 4.2: We’re working on it

A couple of bugs have appeared recently: towers no longer being found and problems with compatibility on Android’s latest version 4.2, for which reason we’ve prevented the app from being downloaded on a few devices running 4.2 – Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4 and Nexus 7. Ordinarily we would focus on fixing the app immediately, but for the past few months we’ve been working on a totally overhauled version of the app which we think will be one of the most beautiful and functioanl apps on the market. This new version is almost, almost, ready for prime time. We’ll start rolling it out across devices running 4.2 first and make sure it’s as smooth as possible across all devices on 4.2 and then we’ll go backwards down the OS versions.

We’re so excited about the new app: we’ve designed it from the ground up to work beautifully at every screen size, to work fast & we’ve packed it with new features while improving the old ones.

Some sneak preview shots:

For 4.2 this should be released by the end of the week.

I’ve been wondering why the app stopped showing me where the tower is that I’m connected to. This area just went to 4g at the same time that I stopped seeing where I was connected, though I am seeing that I’m connected and at what strength. Thanks for the update. I’m on VZW with a thunderbolt right now, but should be on the s3 by next week.
