Nessa nova análise, a Opensignal comparou a experiência de nossos usuários de smartphones com 5G nas 27 capitais do Brasil – a capital federal Brasília e 26 capitais estaduais. Embora nossos usuários em diferentes capitais contem com velocidades médias de download em 5G de mais de 250 Mbps, há diferenças substanciais entre as cidades, de até cerca de 150 Mbps. Também observamos grandes diferenças na velocidade de upload em 5G e na experiência com jogos em 5G nessas 27 capitais.

Users in Brazil’s state capitals enjoy 5G Download Speed exceeding 250Mbps

In this new analysis, Opensignal has compared the 5G experience of our smartphone users in Brazil’s 27 capitals — federal capital Brasília and 26 state capitals. While our users across different capitals enjoy average 5G download speeds of over 250Mbps, there are substantial differences between the cities, up to around 150Mbps. We also see large differences in 5G Upload Speed and 5G Games Experience across these 27 capitals.

The quality of mobile network experience helps explain churn in Brazil

Opensignal has looked at the mobile experience of our smartphone users that changed their mobile operator in Brazil. In this analysis, we found that those Leavers that switched operators, or churned, generally had a significantly worse mobile experience before they switched, compared with the average experience of all users on their original mobile operator’s network. For example, on Opensignal data, on all four operators — Claro, Oi, TIM and Vivo — Leavers saw lower 4G Availability and a greater amount of time with no signal before switching.

Latin American cities’ 4G Download Speeds vary significantly round-the-clock

Opensignal has analyzed 4G Download Speeds experienced by our users on smartphones across six of the largest cities in Latin America: Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Lima, Mexico City, Santiago, and São Paulo. We discovered that our users in São Paulo enjoyed the fastest speeds with an average 4G Download Speed score of 21.3 Mbps, marginally faster than Mexico City by 0.3 Mbps. Meanwhile, our users in Buenos Aires experienced the slowest speeds, with average 4G Download Speeds of 16.2 Mbps.
